I will try to inform you about how to's of rainmeter step by step.
1-Make sure you have Rainmeter installed on your system. You can get it from http://rainmeter.net/RainCMS/
As you can see from the image on left taken from rainmeter homepage you can choose 32 or 64 bit versions according to your system.
Also there is a download link for the latest beta which includes cool features for skins such as imagecrop, and extended meter capabilities.
2-After you installed Rainmeter you have two types of files to deal with. For the archived packages:
2.1-For installing archived(ZIP,RAR) packages(rare generally old skins)You have to follow these steps:
- copy the extracted skin folder to your skins path.by default its C:\Users\Your User Name\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins
- then simply right click the rainmeter tray icon and click refresh all. This will let rainmeter to refresh the list of installed configs. After doing this right click on tray icon choose configs and then find and choose the skin name to run ini file.
- It will show up on screen then if you want to save the current theme, lets say with some gadgets of enigma, gnometer etc, right click the tray icon and then choose themes > manage themes.after the menu appears type a name for your current config and save it.After that you can choose it from the very same menu and restore your config whenever you want
2.2-For installing the .rmskin files showed like the one above is simple. You can just double click and do the Next>next>next rituel :D and it will install the skin in a few seconds. After installing you can choose the installed config from rainmeter tray menu> configs.
